Transfer Factor

Independent Study Says 4Life Transfer Factor Boosts Immune System at "Unprecedented" Levels

Provo, Utah- When 4Life Research President David Lisonbee found Transfer Factor more than two years ago, he knew he had found something very special. Results received by 4Life from an independent  laboratory this week further substantiate the many studies and clinical experiences which show the benefit of 4Life Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus to significantly boost immune response.

This latest study reports that 4Life Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus "induced immune-based killing of K562 cancer cells at a level unprecedented in our experience or known in medical research," according to the director of the independent laboratory.

4Life Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus were tested for their ability to increase Natural Killer Cell (NK) activity by killing live cancer cells. The test results showed that 4Life Transfer Factor boosted NK cell activity 103% above normal immune response without supplementation, or about two times higher than the next highest product. In addition, it was revealed that Transfer Factor Plus increased the NK cell 248% above normal immune response without supplementation, or about five times higher than any of the other previously tested products. The best of more than 200 other products tested showed an increase of only 48.6%.

Natural Killer Cells are a critical part in the first line of defense against germs. They seek and destroy infected or malignant cells through direct contact. NK cells are very important in fighting cancer cells and cells infected by viruses (colds/flues). The independent laboratory which conducted the study, The Institute of Longevity Medicine in California, is recognized for its research and expertise in measuring the ability of ingredients to significantly boost the immune system.

These results come as no surprise to 4Life Research's Dr. William Hannen, Vice President of Research and Development. "Natural Killer Cells are a critical part of our immune system defenses. The results of the NK cell activity tests clearly demonstrate one of the mechanisms whereby 4Life Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus strengthens and supports the immune system. We believe that enhancement of Natural Killer Cell activity is only one of the many ways 4Life Transfer Factor benefits the immune system," said Dr. Hennen.

"I have followed the benefits of Transfer Factor in the medical literature for many years now. The strong results of commercial 4Life Transfer Factor under standard pharmaceutical testing protocols demonstrated that the commercial 4Life Transfer Factor has great potential for widespread benefits. Further, 4Life Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus showed no toxicity even at the highest levels tested, thus maintaining the safety profile of research-grade Transfer Factor," according to the laboratory director.

David Lisonbee, President of 4Life Research, in response to this research said, "These recent findings support and substantiate the reports from thousands of distributors who use Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus and many other clinical experiences and other studies we are familiar with."

Purpose of Study:  To determine the in vitro Natural Killer Cell (NK) activation effects of 4Life Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus using peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) isolated from human volunteers and assaying the increased ability of the NK cell population to kill K562 erthroleukemic (leukemia) cells.

Conclusions:  4Life Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus induced immune-based lysis (breakdown) of K562 cells at a level unprecedented in the directors experience or in known medical literature. Since NK cell function is so crucial in killing dangerous cells, these products are ideal candidates for human and animal immune support.

Some of these products reflect an average of different brands.

Baseline activity is the measure of the ability of human white blood cells to kill K562 leukemia (cancer) cells without supplementation.

Natural Killer Cells are the body's first line of defense against cancers and viruses.  The increase in the ability of white blood cells to kill K562 cancer cells is directly related to the increase in Natural Killer Cell activity.

Darryl See, M.D. Independent Cancer Study

Speaking at Convention 2001, Dr. Darryl See, a research scientist who has published over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles on chronic viral illnesses and immunological disorders, address the audience with some incredibly powerful information regarding "Transfer Factor". With a medical degree from the University of California at Irvine and a board certification in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Dr. See's studies on Transfer Factor ad a vast array of credibility to the unprecedented impact of this exclusive product.

Dr. See conducted the independent in vitro study that tested hundreds of natural products for their ability to raise natural killer cell activity, including Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus. Natural killer cells work on the front-line of our immune system, destroying harmfull cells through direct contact.

As a result of that study, Dr. See concluded that 4Life Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus far outperformed the competition. Transfer Factor raised Natural Killer (NK) Cell Activity by 102 percent and Transfer Factor Plus raised activity by 248 percent.

Recently, Dr. See conducted another study, this time on late stage cancer patients with a regime that included Transfer Factor Plus. He presented the results of this study at the National Convention. Dr. See again tested NK cell function, as well as the Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) in patients. Tumor Necrosis Factor is a substance produced by tumors that can cause a decrease in protein stores, producing fatigue as the body works harder to perform normal functions.

INCREASED TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR ALPHA AND NK CELL FUNCTION USING AN INTEGRATIVE APPROACH IN LATE STAGE CANCERS

Patient Demographics:
Twenty patients
Average age: 49.3
All stage 4 cancers
12 males, 8 females
Prognosis from physician: 3.7 months to live
Patient Regime Included:
Transfer Factor Plus, Beta Glucans, soy extract,
digestive enzymes, vegetarian, low-sugar diet,
hyperthermia and more
Results After Six Months:
Average Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (TNF)
increased from 12.4 to 1287.5
Average increase in NK cell function: 6.4 to 27.6

Sixteen out of the 20 patients studied are in remission, either improving or in stable condition. Dr. See stated that Transfer Factor Plus was an essential part of the regimen. When they removed it, the patients' progress began to slow down. Commenting about Transfer Factor Plus, Dr. See said, "Nothing has ever come close to TF Plus in efficacy...I think everyone in the world should be on this product."

Purpose of Study: To determine the effectiveness of natural products in increasing the function of Natural Killer (NK) cell activity in chronic illnesses. In this study persons suffering from Fibromyalgia were chosen to take part in an in vivo study.

Background: It is felt that unhealthy conditions represent immune system failures in most instances, particularly in the Fibromyalgia Syndrome. There have been many published reports of low Natural Killer cell activity or function in persons with Fibromyalgia.

Natural Killer Cells: Natural Killer cells are the first line of defense in our innate immune systems. They are lethal lymphocytes containing granules filled with potent chemicals. They do not need to recognize a particular antigen but rather attack "nonself". NK cells protect against and target tumor cells and a wide variety of infectious microbes, particularly virally infected cells. NK cells kill by binding to their targets and delivering a lethal burst of chemicals that produce holes in the target cell's membrane. Fluids seep in and leak out and the cells burst and die.
NK cells protect against and target unhealthy cells. NK cells kill by binding to their targets and delivering a lethal burst of chemicals that produce holes in the target cell's membrane. Fluids seep in and leak out and the cells burst and die.

Patient Selection: Nine patients were enrolled in the study who had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and who weren't taking any known immune stimulants at the time of enrollment.

Name: Transfer Factor Plus™

Dosage: One, twice daily, days 1-10. Two, twice daily, days 11-20.

Length of Study: Blood work was drawn on day 1 before the beginning of the use of the products and on day 21 after using the products for 20 consecutive days.

Methodology: The patient's blood was drawn and peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated and NK cell activity was assessed by a variation of the 51Cr release assay. The target cells were live K562 erytholeukemic cells. NK cytolytic activity was calculated at the baseline of day 1 and on the 21st day.

Comment: If a person has a Natural Killer cell activity below 20%, he or she is more susceptible to health risks, or to have a compromised ability to recover to full health. All of the nine volunteers had NK cell function of less than 20% activity with a range of 6 to 13%, and an average of the group of 10% activity.

Summary: All of the nine patients had significant increases in Natural Killer cell activity. The levels after 20 days on the products now ranged from 19.5% to 35.5% with an average of 26.9%. This represented an NK cell activity which is 269% of the zero baseline level or a 169% increase in individual NK activity.

Prior in vitro testing of Transfer Factor Plus revealed an increase in activity of 248%. This in vivo testing confirms and validates the in vitro testing done earlier by an independent laboratory analysis of Transfer Factor Plus.

RECENTLY COMPLETED STUDY ON TRANSFER FACTOR WITH CHILDREN

Patients:  88 Children

Ages:  6 Months - 9 Years Old

Time Frame:  6 Month Winter Sick Season

Results:
74% Reduction in reported illness
84% Reduction in antibiotic use

We have just finished a review of our first 12 months' Pediatric experience with Transfer Factor (and Transfer Factor Plus) from 4Life Research and the review confirms our initial feelings.  88 children who used TF daily at the recommended doses for six or more months were compared to same aged and same sexed children who did not use TF, and their illness and antibiotic use were compared.  We found in this retrospective study a 74% reduction in reported illness and an 84% reduction in antibiotic use.  Using any measure, these are very significant results.

Again, these results are of major consequence and show that the use of TF not only improves the quality of life for the child and his/her family, it makes sense economically.  How could TF change your child's life?

This study was conducted by David M. Markowitz, M.D.

There are many more studies either in progress or that have been completed with the use of TF, and TF+.
