Canine Liver Disease »

Did you know that the liver is the largest organ in your dog’s body (ours too)? The liver actually carries the greatest workload of all the organs. This complex chemical factory works 24 hours a day neutralizing, filtering and destroying toxic substances in the blood and converting the food eaten into substances vital for life.

Every day life can cause the liver to become stressed, overworked, toxic and exhausted. Every day things like a poor nutritional diet, food preservatives & additives, prescription drugs, chemical household cleaners, pesticides (used both on our dogs and on the grass our dogs walks on), etc. all deteriorate the liver, drain its energy and make it hard or virtually impossible for it to do its job.

Once the liver is overloaded with accumulating toxins, its life-sustaining functions begin to suffer and gradually drop out. This places the body in a state of emergency that debilitates & damages all the other organs, leading to numerous chronic conditions. Read the rest

More on Adverse Reactions to ProMeris:

The following posts are from a couple different Online forums emails and/or blogs:

I administered this product(ProMeris) for the first time last month on January 22. On January 23 I had my female 5 1/2 yr old GSD at the vet’s office for a complete blood panel. She had vomited, she was lethargic (just not herself), drinking excessive amounts of water and drooling like crazy out of both sides of her mouth (she NEVER drools). Thankfully, the blood workup came back within normal limits and the next day she was fine. I didn’t give it another thought. Chalked it up as she just wasn’t feeling well.

Yesterday, he reported “Tonight, the U.S. government and the pet food industry achieved a new low that even I did not see coming. Read the rest

Natural Rearing And Nutrition For The Pregnant Bitch

As a long time Natural Rearing breeder as well as an exhibitor of Boston Terriers I often get asked about proper diet/nutriton for pregnant canines. Yes folks,  female canines are called bitches and males are called Dogs. :-)

As a responsible breeder myself, I want to start out by saying that I believe that Breeding Dogs is not a right, but a privilege. As such, there are responsibilities incombent upon anyone and everyone who undertakes to do so. These responsibilities include the stewardhip of the breed.

What benefits the dogs must take precedence over what benefits the people. Read the rest
